Tankard Dental is a modern, progressive dental clinic with locations in Ouyen, Mildura, Robinvale, and Irymple.


We are seeking an enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our team in Ouyen. This role is open to both experienced dental assistants and those looking to start their career in the dental industry. For those without formal qualifications, we offer full support and on-the-job training while you complete your Certificate III in Dental Assisting (through Bendigo TAFE, off-campus) if required.

About the Role

As a Dental Assistant, you will support the dentist in delivering high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with dental procedures, including chairside support, suction, and material preparation.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control throughout the clinic.
  • Processing x-rays, cleaning instruments and equipment.
  • Providing clear and courteous information to patients as directed by the dentist.
  • Performing general administrative duties, such as greeting patients and updating records.

Key Details

  • Hours: Weekdays between 8:00am and 5:00pm.
  • Some travel to our Irymple or Mildura clinics may occasionally be required.
  • Remuneration: Negotiable, based on experience.

About the Role Position: Dental Receptionist Location: Ouyen (occasional travel to Mildura or Irymple may be required) Key Responsibilities: Managing appointment books and scheduling patient visits. Handling phone and email enquiries with professionalism and care. Managing patient recalls and follow-ups. Providing a welcoming and supportive experience for all patients. Addressing and resolving patient concerns as needed. Performing general administrative and reception duties to support the team. What We’re Looking For Excellent communication skills and a warm, professional phone manner. Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment. A friendly, caring, and customer-focused attitude. General computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite. Reliability, maturity, and a willingness to learn. Prior experience in dental or medical reception/admin is desirable but not essential. Working Hours & Benefits Weekdays between 8am – 5:00pm Remuneration: Negotiable, based on experience.
