About the Role

As a new graduate, you’ll receive mentorship from senior dentists, visiting specialists, and our dedicated hygiene and oral health team.

You’ll build confidence at your own pace while gaining exposure to a wide range of dentistry, including general, restorative, cosmetic, implants, orthodontics, and oral surgery, with support and guidance as you develop your clinical skills.

You’ll have the opportunity to explore your interests and expand your scope in a well-supported environment while providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients.

Flexible working arrangements are available, supported by experienced dental assistants, receptionists, and onsite technicians.

Dental Assistant – Tankard Dental

Tankard Dental is looking for a dedicated and friendly Dental Assistant to join our team.

The ideal candidate will assist our dentists in all aspects of patient care, maintain a clean and organised workspace, and help ensure a comfortable experience for every patient.

While experience is preferred, we’re happy to consider a traineeship or a secondary school student with the right attitude and enthusiasm.

We’re looking for someone who is well-groomed, organised, a clear communicator, and brings an outgoing, proactive attitude to the role. Some dental knowledge is an advantage, but not essential — full training can be provided for the right candidate.

You’ll need to be flexible, have a strong work ethic, and enjoy working as part of a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the dentist during procedures, including handing instruments and suctioning.
Prepare and sterilise dental instruments and equipment.
Maintain accurate patient records and update charts.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Ensure the treatment room is clean, organised, and ready for each patient.
Assist with appointment scheduling and patient inquiries as needed.

Requirements:

Professional personal presentation.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Willingness and ability to learn.
Empathy and care for patients.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Current Working with Children Check and/or police check.

Tankard Dental is a modern, progressive dental clinic with locations in Ouyen, Mildura, Robinvale, and Irymple.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our team in Ouyen. This role is open to both experienced dental assistants and those looking to start their career in the dental industry. For those without formal qualifications, we offer full support and on-the-job training while you complete your Certificate III in Dental Assisting (through Bendigo TAFE, off-campus) if required.

About the Role

As a Dental Assistant, you will support the dentist in delivering high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with dental procedures, including chairside support, suction, and material preparation.
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control throughout the clinic.
Processing x-rays, cleaning instruments and equipment.
Providing clear and courteous information to patients as directed by the dentist.
Performing general administrative duties, such as greeting patients and updating records.
